SSVFD Actively Recruiting Members
The Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department is actively recruiting new members. We offer 3 categories of membership: Auxiliary, EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and Firefighter/Rescuer. Those applying as a EMT or Firefighter/Rescuer will be required to undergo a physical (free of charge) and background check. No experience is needed, however members must be at least 16 to apply.

One trapped Spartan/RT 108...again - 11/6/07
For the second time within a month Company 40 and 4 responded for the collision at Spartan and 108. Engine740 arrived on scene to find one over turned with one trapped,again. Rescue Squad 704 completed the extrication and the patient was transported to a local hospital for checkup.

Company 40 and 4 responded for the collision at Spartan and 108. Engine740 arrived on scene to find one trapped. Rescue Squad 704 completed theextrication and the patient was transported to a local hospital.

Spartan Rd and Leman Lake Rollover
Units from 40 and 4 responded for a single vehicle rollover. Three patients had self extricated themselves prior to arrival of Company 40. All 3 occupants transported to a local hospital. This vehicle had been observed by countypolice traveling at a high rate of speed shortly before the collision occurred.




Co's 40 and 4 responded for the collision and upon arrival it was determined that one patient required extrication. Squad 704 completed extrication and the patient was transported.
